Building Better Opportunities
is a Big Lottery fund funded project,
designed to help those people who are furthest removed from the
labour market and support them back into employment. It will provide
a range of activities to build people’s confidence and aspirations as well
as putting in measures that will help remove barriers to employment in
areas such as health, finance, social exclusion and digital.

Learning Support Assistant
Landau Ltd is a supported employment and training provider operating
across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Stoke and Staffordshire and
the Black Country. Through our highly-trained staff, it is Landau’s aim to provide individuals aged 14 and over, whatever their learning or educational ability, with high-quality support that enables them to overcome obstacles and fulfil their potential in society
Required immediately, we are seeking a part-time Learning Support
Assistant at our training centre in Wellington, Telford for a fixed term contract to the end of July to work on a Study Programme with a group of young people aged 18-24 with mild learning and health disabilities. The young people are undertaking an Employability Award, Functional Skills and work experience.
Experience in a similar role is essential, and some knowledge of learning disabilities would be useful. Applicants should be calm and assertive, have the ability to establish a rapport with young people, be capable of identifying barriers that prevent an individual from moving forward and be able to encourage, engage and support students. Knowledge of initiatives that support young people into further education, training and employment is desirable.
The post requires an enhanced DBS disclosure. Interested applicants should request the Job Specification, Job Description and application form detailing their experience and suitability to the post.
