Telford College is a medium to large Further Education College based on a single 23 acre campus in the market town of Wellington. Providing much of its provision in community venues and on employers’ premises, the College annually recruits in excess of 20,000 students and is the largest provider of further education in Shropshire.
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Estates Assistant to join us on a full time basis. Reporting to the Director of Resources, you will undertake all duties associated with the efficient running and maintenance of the College Estate. This will include carrying out general maintenance duties and handyman skills, which includes painting and decorating, undertaking premise inspections and ensuring its overall security.
Following the completion of a successful probationary period you will assume the role of the key holder for the Campus, on a call out rota basis and generally be required to be “on call” one week each month.
The successful candidate should have previous responsibility as a key holder or for premise security, possess a level 2 qualification (GCSE A*-C, or equivalent) in Maths and English, knowledge and familiarity of health and safety at work policies. Practical skills and abilities to carry out a range of repairs to a high standard are also essential.
