The Senior Performance and Analytics Manager role is based within Retail
Banking & Wealth Management.

This role works within Retail Banking and Wealth Management Chief Operating
Officer (RBWM COO) UK & EU and is part of the Business Performance and
Steering Management team. The role reports to the Head of Business Performance
and Steering and is responsible for leading a team of 12 Managers.

The role of Senior Performance and Analytics Manager is to be responsible for
leading a team in the interpretation and analysis of data produced within
Business Performance and data provided by Global Support Utilities function
that supports the Contact Centres.

The role holder will need to pro-actively identify opportunities where high
quality analytical output can facilitate the right Business conversations at a
Senior level in the Business, engage with key stakeholders to ensure their
requirements are met, design and deliver analytical outputs to a high standard
working to tight deadlines, socialise outputs with stakeholders and monitor
actions

The ability to lead and inspire a team analysts to spot right opportunities at
the right time, interpret hugely varied data presented in multiple format and
then provide detailed recommendations for change/improvement/challenge across
the whole of RBWM.



Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a team to provide value adding relevant analytical output on a
consistent basis enabling discussion and decision making at a Senior level
Analysing and provide meaningful insight of all data across RBWM
Based on the MI provided to the team, providing detailed recommendations for
change and improvement across the whole of RBWM
Facilitating the development and continual improvement of the Trading pack"
Delivering of coherent, easy to use MI that is suitable for its audience
Senior stakeholder managing across all areas in RBWM but especially closely
managing stakeholder relationships within Business Performance/COO
Driving challenge to Senior stakeholders across business, highlighting and
sharing areas of best practice and improvement to drive business performance"
Seting up (where appropriate) Best Practice MI production and analytical
capability within the team.
Through robust MI and Stakeholder management, engaging appropriate Business
areas to won delivery of recommendations
Building long-term relationships with all stakeholders and strategically
influence and leverage the matrix organisations to achieve business results"
Eliminating 'non value adding' activities, and focus on business priorities
Ensuring full adherence to Group, Legal and regulatory requirements
Assisting as a key stakeholder in the streamlining creation of MI an
production of 'best in class' analytical function
Evaluating relevant MI to help deliver HSBC Group strategy and to improve RBWM
business performance
Helping support the Team manager to develop an effective team through
communication, performance management, development plans and
reward/recognition practices. Cultivate an environment that supports diversity
and reflects the HSBC brand.



Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of HSBC Retail and Wealth
products or similar
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. banking environment or
matrix structured Business
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. proven analytical, planning
and MI delivery experience within a business."
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. technically strong, has
extensive experience using excel based products and handling sizable data sets
- Excel and Access
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. There may be
some travel as the team this role is responsible for is spread across London,
Leeds, St Alban's and Birmingham
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. SAS knowledge is desirable
but not essential
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and
proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to
customers
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and
long terms results
Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports
and inspires people to develop and deliver
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of
successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over
audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created
opportunities for others to work collaboratively
Dealt effectively with highly complex commercial information and business
challenges to create strategic business plans which effectively deliver
results
Comprehensive understanding of business finance and management information and
an ability to use this information to inform decisions and deliver
efficiencies/savings

The base location for this role is Birmingham

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create
a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground
up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role
will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
