This Portfolio Risk Manager (Trade) role is based within our Commercial Bank
department.

solutions. HSBC GTRF serves as a core service provider for Commercial (CMB)
and Global Banking (GBM) customers.

The role is responsible for structuring complex deals across the whole range
of Global Trade & Receivables Finance's (GTRF) solutions. Key
responsibilities include providing technical expertise to Front-Line Business
Development Managers, assisting in the structuring of bespoke open account
solutions, and ensuring a high quality customer experience. The role holder
will build out a team of structuring specialists in the different regions, to
ensure a consistent operating model in support of our front-line BDMs,
relationship and/or credit risk management experience, holistically finance
company's working capability specifically within the supply chain.



Your responsibilities will include:
Assist in the ownership of portfolio risk appetite and loss provisioning for
the existing risk portfolio Support the ownership of loan loss provisions on
GTRF products and ensure provisions and recoveries are accurately reflected
for GTRF Measure, monitor and report overall portfolio risk exposure of GTRF
to the relevant stakeholders Support the delivery of revenue, achieve Annual
Operating Plan (AOP) targets + ensure client needs are met Provide strategic
recommendations on portfolio risk management to the GTRF Risk Management
Committee Oversee review of customer relationships and provision of guidance
to GTRF Services on any relationship exit Provide input to the development and
execution of a high quality product & proposition management culture and
team that delivers superior client solutions for both Commercial Banking (CMB)
and Global Banking & Markets (GBM) customers Deliver bespoke offerings to
clients through the consultation with the business development teams on key
deals and clients, providing transactional risk specialist knowledge to tailor
products to meet customer need Manage key relationships with internal and
external stakeholders Establish metrics and ensure effective tracking of HSBCs
competitor offerings and performance in comparison to HSBC for Transactional
Risk Management responsibilities Strive for class-leading customer experience
by cultivating a consistent selling and relationship management culture Deepen
customer relationships through driving and supporting the championing of
business cooperation with key stakeholders Represent GTRF at regional
governance committees and forums and act as a GTRF champion to ensure that key
objectives are prioritised appropriately within CMB & GBM Maintain close
liaison with region colleagues/ stakeholders to provide input into the
strategic direction of GTRF Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure
own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial
markets Support achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in
personal behaviour, actions and decision making Provide technical leadership
and support technical excellence by searching out external best practice,
monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and
encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its

order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and
procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or
escalation of issues that arise Contribute to the development, implementation
and maintenance of GTRF management information, analysis and reporting
framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management
and decision making at all levels Contribute to the implementation and
monitoring of the application of GTRF policies, governance frameworks,
procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk
management and regulatory compliance
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Experience of working within a financial/banking environment Credit risk
management and commercial banking experience with some trade experience
Previous working experience within the financial sector at a managerial level
DipFS and CITA are desirable but not essential A desire to find ways to
continually improve the service delivered to customers A track record of
constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding
of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change Experience of
supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear
direction, motivation and support Both spoken and written communication skills
with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and
message to be delivered Built effective networks across business areas,
developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do
the same Proven experience of successful project management, utilising
relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
The base location for this role is Birmingham.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create
a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground
up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role
will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
