We have an opportunity for a Ward Clerk to join their team of staff in the Administration department. This is a PART time role for 20 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. 7.5 hour shifts worked between 7am and 7 pm. some saturdays included Applicants should meet the following criteria: A basic standard of general education with basic computer skillsGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work as part of a teamExcellent attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and prioritise tasksTo be flexiblePrevious experience in a similar roleExperience in a customer facing/focusing roleAbility to deal with challenging situations Duties of this role include: To act as administrative support to the ward staff, ensure patient charges and IPM data entered in a timely manner.Complete all duties in a professional and timely fashionBe familiar with IPM System for patient information.Comply with obligations in respect to Health and Safety at work legislation, fire drills and procedures and always acts in a manner to promote to a healthy and safe environmentPromote and ensure an environment conducive to the continuing prevention and control of infection for all staff, patients and visitors.Be aware of and comply with all infection prevention and control policies and ensure best practice is maintained to ensure low infection rates.Complete all written and typed documentation, in a timely manner to an acceptable levelCommunicate appropriately with all hospital staff, patients, Consultants, Regional and Corporate staffAnswer the telephone and taking accurate verbal and written messages ensuring information passed on to the correct person.Direct patients, visitors, Consultants and staff as required.Access computer data as required.
