Based in Birmingham, the Project Manager - Finance Change will lead on a wide range of projects across the finance function, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and meet objectives. Client Details A leading Financial Services organisation based in Birmingham. Description The Project Manager - Finance Change will: Ensure projects / financial reporting results produce deliverables to required standards of quality within specified constraints of time and cost, providing a quality service to internal customers. Lead and take overall responsibility for planning projects / financial reporting results, applying modern project management principles and methodologies. Follow existing standards for initiation, planning, management, control and delivery of projects / financial reporting results. Follow existing risk management and quality assurance disciplines and reporting, ensuring that a rigorous Risk Management process is followed. Ensure effective Management Information is in place and that all KPI's are achieved. Manage the project expense budgets cost effectively, and work with senior management to set budgets. Ensure that all staff assigned are competent for the role they are undertaking, and provide management to staff as required, including: Monitor performance of project team members so that optimum service and value is delivered to the customer; Request and deploy resources to ensure appropriate skills are deployed; Develop project objectives for team members and, monitor performance, and provide motivation and guidance. Assist Finance Managers and Project Managers gain a better understanding of the resources required to support projects and BAU and facilitate allocation of resources in accordance with priorities. Establish an accurate view of future resource requirements, quickly identify resource conflicts and pro-actively seek to resolve them. Assist the Head of Finance Change and operational finance senior management in identifying significant change opportunities supporting core business objectives via data collection, analysis and evaluation, challenging conventional thinking, and applying a customer focused approach across end to-end processes. Manage change delivered by third parties through the full change lifecycle where necessary. Profile To be successful in this role you will be/have: Proven change management experience, preferably multi-organisation, likely within financial services.Recognised Project Management qualification.Excellent project management, planning and organising skills.Proven track record of delivering complex projects within Finance department.Manage a project / lead a workstream with minimal oversight, delivering objectives to agreed quality standards, on time and to budget.Ability to develop project objectives for team members and monitor performance against these, providing leadership, motivation and guidance.Manage project / workstream budget effectively.Effective delivery of project / workstream benefits - financial & non-financial.Significant operational experience and knowledge of finance processes and deliverables (either actuarial or accounting) within a complex Financial Services organisation, which enables the role holder to understand the impact of project deliverables on key financial processes. Could be qualified, part qualified or have significant operational finance/actuarial knowledge. Able to apply expertise to devise and debate technical solutions with technical SMEs.Demonstrates a high level of understanding of key Finance reporting processes, Finance systems and data and Finance risks and controls.Strong business acumen.Vision and purpose to support the drive for organisational change.Technical competence in computer skills, particularly use of project software and office productivity tools.Ability to mentor and coach Finance Change Managers, Finance Change Support Managers & Finance Change Analysts in project management techniques and general management skills / competencies.Relationship building up to Senior Management level.Providing regular, concise and effective updates to all key stakeholders - strong verbal and written communication skills.Create confidence in stakeholders through demonstrating a good understanding of the issues and next steps required whilst projecting a 'can do' attitude. Job Offer The Project Manager - Finance Change will be based in Birmingham. There will be some travel required to other UK sites. £55-65,000 p/a plus car allowance, bonus and benefits 6-12 month contract
