FULL TIME POSITIONS 36 HOURS PER WEEK

12 HOUR SHIFT ROTA SYSTEM MONDAY TO SUNDAY

SALARY GBP15.00 PER HOUR DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE

Our client based at Oxon Park, Shrewsbury is a 2nd generation family owned Care Home, proudly owned by the same family who have operated within Shropshire for 30 years. The care home is a Gold Standard Framework commended home for end of life care, nationally recognised as a quality provider of nursing and specialist dementia care.

The home also provides short term rehabilitation care in partnership with local statutory health and social care colleagues, and accommodation which supports the diagnosis and treatment of long-term conditions.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will enjoy making a positive difference to residents and family members of the home. You will be required to lead a team and be involved in continuous assessments, planning and evaluation of residents' needs, utilising your skills and experience to ensure our residents are supported with all their needs, whilst coaching team members and role modelling best practice.

You must hold previous similar experience and possess a compassionate and caring attitude, with adequate knowledge, experience and understanding of a nursing role and professional boundaries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the assessment, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care plans
- Adopt a systemic, individual approach to all patient care plans and communicate outcomes to relevant personnel - both verbally and in writing
- Promote and provide an outstanding and professional level of nursing care in accordance with current best practice, legislative requirements and regulations
- Develop positive behavioural support plans with patients
- Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining the necessary records as per Company Policy
- Systematically effectively and efficiently solve day-to-day problematic matters
- Ensure all records and documentation is kept up to date on the computerised patient records
- Provide leadership to the care and nursing functions of The Home
- Supervise the services within The Home in accordance with agreed standards

PERSON SPECIFICATION

- To be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and comply with NMC requirements for revalidation
- Maintain relevant nursing skills and undertake required training and development courses, to ensure required levels of service are met
- Possess a natural caring and supportive demeanour
- Good listening and rapport building ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be an effective team player
- Support an open, positive and inclusive management culture
- Self-aware, seeking support and advice when required
- Organise and prioritise workload and time
- Adaptable in a fast paced, ever changing environment
- Good IT skills and competent with Microsoft Office Packages
