We're now looking for an External Collections Manager to join our Credit Management Team in Coventry to help us continue to make that difference.

Role overview

A key role within the Credit Management Team, this person will manage the team of External Optimisation Managers. The role will report into the Credit and Risk Strategy and Operations Manager, being responsible for the efficient running of the DCA operation.

The roles main remit will be to oversee the performance of each of the DCAs ensuring the Optimisation Managers are driving the right outcomes / performance. An exciting opportunity for someone who is experienced in managing collections strategies, as this role will also act as an escalation point both internally and externally in relation to DCA activity / performance.

Areas of specific responsibility
*The direct management of the External Optimisation Management team
*Ensuring the effective running of the debt collections agencies (which comprises of approximately twelve agencies)
*Accountable for the auditing of agencies
*Point of escalation for agency management
*Ensuring the right accounts are going to the right agency
*Oversight of on boarding of new collections agencies and ensuring the appropriate commercial and contractual terms are in place
*Data analysis to identify trends and opportunities
*Implementation of collections strategies and monitoring of these to determine success

Essential criteria
*Previous experience managing DCAs
*Full driving licence as national travel will be required
*People management experience
*Communication with all levels up to Head of Department
*Previously been accountable for collections performance

Desirable criteria
*Experience deputising for the senior management team
*Experience in implementing new collections operational processes
*Experience in contract negotiations / commercials (GBP500k) is desirable
