Term: 6 months initially

We are currently seeking a IT Procurement Officer to join a fantastic organisation in West Midlands for an initial 6 month contract.

The role will include supporting the Commercial Manager and the Head of IT Commercial Manager on the resolution of procurement issues, procurement negotiations and contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Liaise with business on contract queries have an in depth understanding of Key Supplier Agreements.
- Awareness of the charging mechanism, assisting Commercial Manager in ensuring all additional charges are raised in accordance with the contract including triggering contract change and ensuring any claw backs and gain share provisions are applied.
- Assisting the Commercial Manager in maintaining the Contract Handbooks to support knowledge transfer.
- Maintain a contract obligations Matrix including maintaining an event register of key commercial deliverables eg updated Exit Plan annually.
- Managing the Contract Change log.
- Collation of material required for ITAC/OGC for material changes and legal matters.
- Capturing Contract Change requirements and recording them accordingly.
- Assisting the Commercial Manager in vetting of Statements of Work, maintaining a record of interdependencies between project activity and BAU charges for already provided services.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Commercial Manager, supporting commercial aspects of bids
- Chairing Team Meetings to discuss and agree continued ways of working.
- Capture and record data relating market analysis in support of Key Supplier Strategy
- Financial risk management for Key Suppliers


- Experience in a similar position - Highly Desirable
- Previous experience in Manufacturing would be advantageous
- Knowledge and Exposure of the IT Industry - applications and software - Essential
- Experience of awareness of IT outsource contracts and the negotiation of commercial terms
- Demonstrable experience in assessing, drafting and agreeing Contract Change and/or Statements of Work
- Awareness of Service Management and Project Management disciplines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience in negotiations
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to form strong relationships with customers and members of the bid/project team.
- Confident at dealing and communicating at all levels including senior stakeholders
