The role of the Planning & Logistics Manager is to operate as an integral part of site's Senior Management Team, providing all incoming & outgoing logistics services and the delivery of the weekly planning/scheduling process. In addition you will be required to provide effective management of indirect services. As the Planning & Logistics Manager you will be responsible for developing the short and medium term production schedules across the manufacturing network, looking at ways to optimise inventory levels and proactively drive planning efficiency.

Description

As the Production Planning Manager you would ideally boast the following skill set:

*Manage the development and maintenance of the production schedule working closely with S&OP, logistics and customer service taking into consideration capacity constraints.

*Execute a production schedule taking into account machinery constraints, resource levels and raw materials

*Work closely with manufacturing teams and central functions and external stakeholders to ensure the schedule executed is of the highest quality

*Manage the efficient flow of materials from store to line in accordance with the product schedules to maximise line run time and minimise down time

*Maintain optimum inventory levels across raw materials and packaging across the site

*Providing the site with a comprehensive inbound and outbound logistics service to ensure that adequate materials are available to enable the site production plan to be delivered in full

*Ensuring the planning of all material supply activities for the site to meet the production plan

*Being the site lead for ownership & co-ordination of Indirect Services, meaning a.o. taking ownership for site based indirect spend budget.

*Overall site performance targets are key! You will be developing, supporting, directing and coaching the team effectively to ensure they are equipped with the right skills and knowledge.

Profile

HARD SKILLS
-Educated to degree level
-Analytical & problem solving
-Planning and organizing
-Financial awareness
-Strong knowledge of systems, SAP, MRP, Manugistics, etc
-Awareness of Food Safety and Quality management systems
-Several years food industry experience

SOFT SKILLS
Since the Planning & Logistics Manager is part of the senior management team of the site it's necessary to have good and effective communication and leadership skills. You are a strong team-player, persuasive & influencing. Furthermore, you have to be decisive & tenacious for this job.
