Sheridan Blake Executive Search are currently seeking a Quality Engineer with a strong background within the automotive industry.

As part of our global growth, and the continuing expansion of the business, a vacancy has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join the business at the Warwick office. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the business seeks a Quality Engineer with extensive experience in the automotive production, including TS16949, APQP and PPAP processes. The manufacturing operation is a newly created function requiring the creation of a Quality department, the establishment of the appropriate team, operating procedures and facilities required in the delivery and maintenance of TS16949 accreditation and all aspects of Supplier Quality Assurance. As a part of this newly created team you will be heavily involved in supporting the Quality Manager in delivering this function.

The key functions of the role:

Work with production and design teams to ensure quality assurance, which shall include involvement and or development of FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP and PSW

To lead any process improvement to ensure cost effective manufacturing process

Measure & report of quality performance within the production area and supply chain as necessary (KPI's) & reporting to the Quality Manager

Assist in management of any customer and or supplier quality issues, working closely within the business and external technical suppliers to fully investigate and conclude these issues

Liaison with customers on performance matrices to ensure the business is aligned on all KPIs and feedback on any open issues

Conduct supplier audits to ensure TS16949 compliance as and when required to assist in supplier development activities in conjunction with SQA team

Conduct internal audits to TS16949 to ensure continued compliance to the standard, performance of process micro audits to assist in production improvement initiatives

Actively contribute to ensure our new transmission manufacturing facility is best in business and meets the high specifications.

Assist where necessary in the development and certification to TS16949
UK To conduct any other duties as deemed necessary to support quality control and assurance

Qualifications / Education / Experience required:

*Degree in Engineering desirable

*Lead auditor in either ISO9001 or TS16949

*Supplier auditing experience in Automotive transmission (or engine) related components would be beneficial

*Able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of quality assurance tools, techniques and methodologies

*Excellent presenter & communicator in all aspects of Automotive Supplier Quality Assurance

*Proven track record in APQP / PSW / PPAP of automotive components

*Fully conversant in transmission manufacturing methods, understanding detailed drawings of gears/shafts/transmissions

*To review and action GD&T dimensioning.

*Knowledge of transmission & transmission parts manufacturing process and documentation

*DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan including relevant component inspection process and procedures

*Proven ability with problem solving techniques such as 8D systems or similar

*Knowledge and understanding of ISO9000 & ISO14001 & TS16949

*Ability to review supplier documentation and support suppliers if required

*Overall planning to support full PSW on time

Other beneficial attributes:
