Responsible for the overall management of assigned customer programs. Leads program team to execute product development / launch programs for components, systems, and full platforms. Meet all internal and customer targets and objectives. Interfaces with all levels of internal and customer management on all aspects of planning, scheduling, organizing, directing and controlling the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leadership of the Program Team. Representing team in a professional manner to the customer and management.
2. Takes personal responsibility for program success.
3. Motivates the PT to meet commitments and holds the team accountable.
4. Ensure appropriate program staffing by establishing assignments and workload. Work with management to ensure that proper staffing is maintained.
5. Program planning in all regards including program timeline and customer MRDs.
6. Maintaining the Program Team morale. Resolving conflicts between team members and departments.
7. Clarifying roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the team.
8. Follow the industry best practices including Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to ensure world class program management. Utilize available Program Management tools such as risk management and lessons learned to successfully launch program.

Program Team Management:
9. Managing and running Program Team meetings.
10. Managing relevant program documentation including Customer Statement of Work, Open Issues List, Timeline, Monthly Project Reports and 39 Steps.
11. Establish internal and external targets, objectives, and deliverables by working with Management, Customers, and Program Team.
12. Support Manufacturing Team (Launch Manager and the Plant Launch Team) in pre-volume production builds, team meetings, plant based customer reviews, and critical production preparation activities. Ensure appropriate program team members support launch efforts.
13. Ensure drawing, prototype and production tooling schedule is managed to support and builds and MRDs.

Financial Targets, AR, PCAQ:
14. Manage and report on roadmap to achieve financial commitments. Achieves all internal and external financial targets.

Timing:
15. Program monitor and control via attending design reviews, ensuring adherence to delivery schedule, visiting customer locations and assembly plants, reviewing budget status reports, personally visiting supplier manufacturing locations to conduct supplier readiness reviews, participating in prototype and internal production builds.

Product:
16. Audits DVP&R and PVP&R to ensure successful completion on time. Manages the change process.

Customer Satisfaction:
17. Fosters an effective customer relationship to maintain personal credibility. Manages the team to ensure on time adherence to customer MRDs.
18. Utilize project scope control tools including Statement of Work (SOW), written responses to scope change requests and quotes that include product, cost and timing impact to manage Standard interests.

Risk Management:
19. Plans for the future including identifying Risks. Uses appropriate Risk Mitigation tools to prevent problems from occurring.
20. Raises future risks using escalation processes and clearly identifying to management specific tasks, deliverables and support needed to mitigate future risks.

Quality:
21. Leads the Program Team to meet all customer quality targets. Launches products below targets for launch cost, scrap and containment.
22. Meets all customer quality systems and processes.

Safety:
23. Adheres to all standards for safety for himself and his team.
24. Ensures safety is considered in all product builds especially in customer production facilities.

25. Ability to function in a different culture, matching interpersonal skills to the culture. Knowledge of the culture of other countries to better understand conflict and issues. Aptitude at managing through the hierarchy and organizations in other cultures. Skill at putting information into a format that is best understood and accepted in a different culture. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
2. Master's Degree preferred.
3. Ten years experience in the automotive industry.
4. Experience in at least 3 functional areas; Quality, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Finance, Operations, Sales, etc.
