ASC Lead Practitioner - Erdington - April Start
If you are experienced supporting pupils with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a school, specialist or care setting then this could be the role for you! Academics are working in partnership with a Primary School in Erdington who are looking for experienced, hardworking and highly motivated Teaching Assistants to work with ASD pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Your role will be ASC lead practitioner. We are looking for someone who is;
*Experienced supporting pupils or adults with Autism; must have a strong understanding of how a pupil's need can be met within a mainstream setting
*Confident managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and using de-escalation techniques. Team-Teach / STEPS trained is not essential but would be a great advantage
*Skilled working with pupils with communication difficulties; PECS training is advantageous but not essential
*Able to demonstrate the impact you have had a child's progress and development.
You would be joining a well established, supportive and welcoming SEN support teams, where you would be well supported within your role and development would be highly encouraged.
