Seeking an effective teacher for a Secondary aged PMLD class for a long term role

Your new company
Hays Education are currently working with an "Outstanding" Birmingham Special school that supports individuals with Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties. This Birmingham based SEND school is an established School that is well resourced and provides support to pupils across KS1 - KS2, who have a variety of Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) .

Your new role
This job role will involve teaching a small cohort of KS4 pupils with complex needs and will see you planning and implementing a differentiated curriculum to deliver personalised learning to your cohort of children. This will be an active teaching job and will require working collaboratively with the learning support assistants assigned to the group. This is a full time teaching job that is due to start in September 17 and is expected to a last for the rest of the academic year with the potentiality of becoming permanent

What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a passionate, outcomes focussed teacher, with experience of working with children or young people with Complex Needs and/ or Autism. You will be a have a minimum of 40 days experience, in the last 2 years, of working in schools, SLD, ASD or PMLD settings, which can be referenced. Applicants with experience of working with students on P Levels, or in EYFS, will have a significant advantage. You will be passionate about working with children/ young people to achieve the best of their potential. A Team Teach qualification or training in crisis prevention (PROACT SKIP/ MAPA/ TEACHH) is also advantageous.
