Role Purpose (Summary)

To underwrite and develop the motor fleet account, underwriting business in accordance with QBE business plan; whilst providing support on a technical and administrative level.

General Description

  • Underwrite new and existing Motor products
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Support the development of cross class business opportunities
  • Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business plan
  • Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
  • Keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively

Essential Requirements

  • Technical Motor Fleet experience
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Desire to gain knowledge and skills in underwriting environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised approach with ability to work to deadlines
  • Exceptional service skills and proven track record of maintaining relationships
  • Market awareness and broker development acumen
  • An understanding of the value of transacting business efficiently
