In Europe we are focused on 6 key business platforms; we specialise in Water Treatment, Waste Water, Parts Cleaning, Lubricants & Fuel Additives, Tools & Fasteners and Maintenance providing solutions to customers across the hospitality, industrial and infrastructure sectors.


Our Maintenance and Partsmaster innovation platform has a requirement for an Application Expert to assess and appraise all new ideas and innovations within the platform to ensure feasibility in the market place. The Application Expert will train and support local country support teams and ensure technical training materials are up to date. In addition the Application Expert will support customers should technical queries arise and utilise this time to understand customer needs for future innovation opportunities.

*Ensure application and technical expertise is unparalleled and disseminated throughout the company to the Sales & Service technical support teams.
*Attend product and equipment launch meetings.
*Communicate to Sales team's innovations & regulatory changes.
*Coordinate and / or carry out when required any specialist analytical services.
*Research Suppliers / Manufacturers for required products / equipment.
*Analyse publications and literature. Follow technology developments at customers and evaluate competitive technologies.
*Analyse and answer application specific customer questions.
*Review and analyse customer complaints.
*Provide technical expertise to International Accounts, Regional and / or Country based Technical Support people and Sales Teams across Europe.
*Contribute to the optimization of customer processes.
*Support customer acquisition activities concerning technical aspects.
*Provide support to Strategic Accounts when required.
*Participate in development projects with application and customer oriented know-how.
*Participate in team and project work assignments; contribute to a positive working environment.
*Co-ordinate and control field experiments to validate results and solutions of Product Development.
*Maintain technical expertise through on-going research and technical education.
*Attend conferences and associations to introduce Maintenance and Partsmaster Platform innovation.

*Experience in sales/ sales support at corporate level.
*Member of Royal Society of Chemistry desirable.
*Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Language Skills
*Fluency in written and spoken English.
*Other European language skills (written and spoken), desirable but not essential.

*Graduate Level (e.g. Chemistry, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
*Must possess a current full driving licence.


The successful candidate should be a subject matter expert in this field of industrial maintenance solutions, have proven sales ability in a technical environment and have excellent problem solving skills. The Application Expert should have excellent relationship building skills as the role will require the successful applicant to work cross functionally throughout NCH Europe. To be successful the Application Expert should have excellent business acumen, strong communication skills and the ability to drive for results whilst always being focused on the need of our customers. Due to the European nature of this role candidates should be willing and able to travel throughout Europe and have the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload.
