Main purpose of the job:

The primary responsibility for the role is to develop and support the firm's case management, matter management, document management, workflow and related applications as well as web technologies and third party applications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Develop, enhance and support applications used within the firm, this includes: case management systems, matter management, document production / workflow, intranet, extranet and website ·

Weekly Intranet update in conjunction with Business Services Department · Produce end user training manuals for existing and new systems developed · Perform end user training for existing and new systems developed · Responsible for the testing of existing and new systems developed ·

Analyse and identify business areas where technology can be used to enhance efficiencies · Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects · Create, document, and implement test plans · Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates · Perform related duties as assigned ·

Awareness of legal market and issues relating to the Firm’s legal disciplines · Work with departments to understand requirements and to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions. · Establish a detailed program specification through discussion with clients, end users, suppliers or third parties · Devise solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options ·

Manage projects as directed to ensure completion to deadlines and within budget · Work as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project · Test sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended · React to problems and correcting the program as necessary · Evaluate the program's effectiveness · Increase program operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements, as necessary ·

Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately · Recreate steps taken by the user to locate sources of problems · Consult manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge ·

Willing to undertake any training, as and when necessary Other responsibilities · Provide support to users as required · Ensure logged calls are escalated in accordance with agreed SLA's · Ensure that documentation standards are followed and system documentation is kept up to date · Any other reasonable ad hoc duties required ·

On occasion working outside of normal office hours when it is required Performance measures: · Demonstrable application development experience · Knowledge of database architecture and design · Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents · Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines · Flexible and can do attitude, ability to perform under pressure ·
