We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join an expanding Engineering company in Stoke-on-Trent. Established over 20 years ago, they are now one of the most respected manufacturing companies in the UK in their Market.

Reporting to the Sales Director your duties will be

  • Assessing of incoming enquiries for parts, service or new capital equipment
  • Visit customer sites to determine what equipment is required to meet the process needs
  • Assess requirements for maintenance, refurbishment or new capital equipment
  • Preparation of quotations / reports for spare parts, service, maintenance, refurbishment and capital equipment, including communication with internal departments, suppliers and customers
  • Follow up of quotations
  • Checking of final costs vs sales values on Jobs
  • Entering new orders onto Sage business system and creating internal documentation
  • Assist in preparation of and attendance at exhibitions
  • Follow up’s to customers following engineers site visits, new work, recommendations
  • Assist in preparing Tender documentation for Frameworks where required
  • Attendance to weekly production meetings
  • When required preparation of RAMS for site work

Skills and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in sales, engineering, marketing
  • Previous experience in sales / maintenance activities would be beneficial
  • Clean driving license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
