Senior/Principal Enforcement Officer
My client, a local authority based in the West Midlands is currently in urgent requirement a senior/principal planning enforcement officer to join the council on an initial 3-6 month rolling contract. The pay for this role is negotiable and dependent upon your level experience and expertise.
The main duties of the role will include investigating into potential breaches of planning control. As well as occasionally leading site investigations and look at retrospective applications. This will involve interviewing members of the public, owners and occupiers of the land plus applying your own investigative skills. You will also need to be able to write enforcement reports.
Ideally they are looking for you to have at least 4-5 years experience of dealing with planning enforcement cases. However if your planning enforcement experience is limited you could still be considered if you have development management experience. It is preferable, but not essential that you hold a relevant degree qualification.
In order to carry out site visits you should also hold a full driving license and have a car. The Council can also offer flexible working arrangements such as home working and a compressed week.
