Location: Rugby, Warwickshire

Remuneration: £35,000 to £40,000

Overview:

Blue Dot Search & Selection is proud to be working in partnership with this well known Third Party Logistics provider in seeking to recruit a high calibre Warehouse Operations Manager to be based at its Distribution Centre in the Rugby, Warwickshire area.

This is a large, complex and fast paced e-commerce / retail distribution operation and as such demands not only first class technical and operational knowledge and experience but also extremely well developed man management skills, particularly within the fields of staff engagement and the cultivation of a well defined, positive, open and inclusive work culture.

Position:

Reporting into the Assistant General Manager this challenging and rewarding position holds responsibility for the effective management of teams of colleagues via Team Leaders and Shift Managers for specific functions within the distribution centre. This may include receipt and put-away of incoming stock, picking, packing and despatch as well as holding responsibility for fostering and maintaining a culture of health & safety.

Key to the success of this role is the effective provision of leadership, motivation, coaching, mentoring and career development to operational teams, ensuring that operational excellence is achieved on a day-to-day basis.

Person:

Demonstrable management experience gained from within a similar, large, fast paced and highly pressurised retail (ideally e-commerce) logistics environment underpinned with an excellent knowledge of all aspects of warehousing and storage.

With a focus on driving continuous improvement across the warehouse and operation you will skilled at influencing and persuading your colleagues at all levels at to perform to the best of their abilities.

Having previously been responsible for the creation, leadership and development of high performing operational teams the successful individual will play a pivotal role in the success of this operation via the engagement, development and motivation of their teams to achieve their personal goals as well as exceeding the agreed contract service levels.

Well developed interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to establish effective communication channels and working relationships with warehouse staff and other areas of the operation are essential as is experience of negotiating change within a unionised environment.
