  • Up to £31,000 per annum (Standard days)

As the successful Logistics Team Leader you will lead a section within the Warehouse function working to ensure an efficient day-to-day operation that is able to fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.

Key duties:

  • Ensure the delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules
  • Regular staff communication - keeping them aware of priorities, targets, operational requirements and business updates
  • Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility
  • Support with recruitment and training, performance management of staff
  • Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change
  • Regular reporting as and when required (inc. review of ways to reduce waste)
  • Assist in planning future capacity requirements
  • Liasion with customers, suppliers and transport companies as and when required
  • Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose
  • Ensure staff comply to health & safety and environmental regulations
  • To proactively contribute to the team and actively commit to teams development


The ideal Logistics Team Leader / Supervisor will be someone who welcomes change and has:

  • Experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques - advantageous
  • Supervisory and Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases and a knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
  • Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines
  • NVQ Level 2, IVQ Technician certificate and BTec First Certificate - desirable
  • An appropriate warehousing qualification - advantageous
  • A supervisory qualification - beneficial
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements
  • Commitment to work towards professional accreditation with an industry related body
  • A valid driving licence
