The Role Of Home Care Assistant 'Must'

  • Ensure Secure Healthcare clients receive the highest standards of care within their own home.
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Provide personal care and support to clients for example, washing, bathing, and toileting
  • Prepare meals, refreshments, and snacks
  • Carry out general housekeeping duties, including laundry, vacuuming,
  • Promote/encourage independence where possible
  • Develop healthy relationships with clients, relatives, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with health professionals
  • Report any changes/concerns to the office and/or the out of hours service
  • Support with shadow training new additions to the care team
  • A genuine desire to promote and support client choice and independence
  • Ensure confidentiality at all times
  • The ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • A respectful approach to clients
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Team working skills,
  • Pro-active, ability to use own initiative
  • Capacity to work to health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Patience and a sense of humour
