Cambian’s Sexual Trauma Service

Cambian’s Children’s Sexual Trauma Service is a residential service offering therapeutic support for children and young people between the ages of 12 and 18, who have experienced Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).

The holistic service consists of a dedicated multi professional clinical team, residential service, and education provision who work in collaboration to ensure the safety of each individual, whilst supporting everyone to reach their full potential.

Job Role

You will provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within a residential service for young people who have experienced sexual trauma. Working as part of a multi professional clinical team you will be responsible for individual assessment of Occupational needs, and delivery of 1:1 and group interventions. Alongside this you will also provide training, support and consultation to the team working with the young person. This included key workers within the home, and teaching staff within the service specific education provision. As a developing service there will also be active involvement in the development of the Occupational Therapy service to ensure this is evidence based, and is able to meet the needs of the young people. Other responsibilities include attendance at child focused meetings, including Looked after Child review meetings, report writing, training delivery, liaising with external agencies as required, and contributing to risk management plans and placement plans. You will work alongside a Senior Occupational Therapist within the service, who will provide regular clinical supervision.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward thinking occupational therapist to join our friendly team.

You must have an MSc, degree or a post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Previous experience in working with children & adolescents is advantageous; however not essential. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an interest in service development and promoting team working. The candidate will need to be a driver, and have access to their own transport as the role is based across a number of sites.

Taking a “hands on” approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills. You will provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation.

Successful candidates will need to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.
