Senior Scheduling Officer
Salary: £40,030 to £45,057 + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
Location: Birmingham

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is comprised of 18 local authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

Corporate Services ensures that all projects within the WMCA Investment Portfolio are managed and assured to the highest possible standard, in addition to supporting all Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) projects and programmes.

The WMCA Programme Management Office provides a comprehensive scheduling service to a variety of diverse projects and projects (infrastructure, technology and sustainability) providing a consolidated Master Schedule. This role will manage a team of 2 Scheduling Officers, coaching them on the use of the scheduling tool relevant to the project requirements (P6, Microsoft Project, SharePoint WBS) and best practice planning approach to creating, maintaining and challenging project schedules. Ensuring that Schedule management is fully embedded and adopted across all programmes and projects throughout the organisation and that constraints, dependencies and interfaces are appropriately identified, understood, reported and managed.

The scope of the role:

• To develop the WMCA Scheduling function and team into a best in class service
• To undertake appropriate analysis of the Master Schedule include critical path analysis, scenario planning and impact assessments
• To work with external contractors to obtain updates of construction schedules and integrate into the Master Schedule
• To promote and maintain awareness of schedule management, EVM and cost and schedule performance throughout Programme Teams
