Job Title - UK Sales Manager (FM)

Location - UK Wide

Salary - Negotiable


  • Responsible for managing a number of existing key accounts and expanding business by acquiring new customers and cross selling/up-selling in the FM market.
  • Delivering agreed business objectives and being a strategic thinker with solid planning, analytical skills and a passion for growth.

The Role:

  • Able to develop and deploy a comprehensive and aligned business plan for the strategic market
  • Provide detailed competitor and market analysis
  • Establish, develop and maintain existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff
  • Work with fellow Sales and Marketing colleagues to improve client acquisition and retention
  • Identify potential for growth through service offering, marketing and sales efforts
  • Gain long term service commitments from assigned and new accounts from a proactive approach to the market
  • Identify cross selling opportunities from national accounts within a strategic market with a view to winning frame work arrangements
  • Provide support to customers during initial phase of an engagement.
  • Follow up and ensure total customer satisfaction through the life cycle of the relationship
  • Support major project activity from lead to finalising sales
  • Setting budgets / targets
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms as required and in line with company guidelines
  • Analyse sales margin and order statistics on a monthly basis for inclusion in Monthly Report
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts to ensure customer service commitment is achieved
  • Plan and carry out direct marketing activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales
  • Ensure the CRM system is fully maintained and up to date, submitting a weekly territory report and produce, as required, sales forecasts and statistical information
  • Ensure that the sales process is adhered to and the sales funnel for your respective region is maintained, updated and managed in accordance with process requirements
  • Ensure delivery of key KPl's
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills

Essential Skills:


  • Strong engineering background is preferred
  • Strong IT & numeracy skills
  • Experience using a CRM package preferred
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and market knowledge


  • Preferably degree educated or equivalent in an engineering or business discipline
  • A full driving license


  • 5 years' experience in a Sales/BD environment, preferably selling similar products and services into the region
  • Experience of the FM electro-mechanical industry is essential
  • Ability to sell a value proposition and not on price
  • Strong communicator at all levels
  • Commitment, drive and the ability to work together with other colleagues to achieve business outcomes
  • Customer focused, flexible and adaptable in their approach to delivering the services we offer
  • Able to work on own initiative, with strong self-motivation and discipline
  • Highly organised with superior planning skills
  • Demonstrable success within Business Development in a commercial environment
  • Strong presentation skills via spoken and written media
  • Ability to prepare and present business documentation, quotations and proposals
  • A belief that everyone is important and should be treated with dignity and respect
  • Appreciates need for consistency within company's branding and marketing mix, especially PR and the Internet
  • Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts, particularly achieving genuine sales development
