Safety Systems Officer (Fixed Term Contract)
This is a fixed term appointment until 31st March 2018
Within this role you will input information relating to accidents and incidents, undertake statutory reporting duties for CrossCountry, maintain statistical data and manage all alerts on the Safety Management Information System (SMIS). You will also be responsible for the administration of CCTV requests and undertake downloads where required; as well as take ownership of the XC Display screen assessment process and the Cannon House Health & Safety Notice Board.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to improve processes and systems which are used to manage safety across the business, constantly striving for continuous improvements
You have the opportunity to support the rest of the team with audits, attendance at SMIS user groups. Also liaising with RSSB as necessary to ensure XC maximise the full potential of SMIS.
If you believe this is the role for you to gain experience within the Safety team, then please ensure you demonstrate the following on your application:
- Qualified SMIS operative or knowledge of and the ability to become an operative.
- IT literate.
- Knowledge of railway operations.
- Knowledge of Management Systems to include Safety, Quality and Environmental.
