The Role

This is an exciting new role where you will have overall responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating manufacturing operations to achieve Proto Labs operating objectives. You will develop and execute sound policies, plans and procedures for manufacturing to include (but not limited to) staffing, scheduling, inventory, manufacturing operations, safety and product quality. You will facilitate identification of problem areas (e.g., bottlenecks or increased errors due to manual intervention) and recommends areas of focus for process redesign and automation to promote effective, efficient and economic business practices. You will also set goals and initiate tasks and projects as appropriate to drive business results associated to Safety, Delivery, Quality and Cost.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant manufacturing and/or operations management
  • Significant people management experience

The Candidate

The role will appeal to an individual capable of working in a fast paced environment. You will have the initiative to approach challenges with enthusiasm and the ability to react to rapid changes in prioritisation whilst maintaining a clear focus on the company objectives. Exceptional people management, communication and problems solving skills are a must along with and an engineering or technical degree or the equivalent experience.
