Our client, an established multinational financial services business based in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join the Management team. Reporting into the Head of Risk the purpose of the role would Evaluate the financial stability of all partners and suppliers on a timely and accurate basis and ensure they are operating within the prescribed control frameworks and to mitigate exposure to the business.

Responsibilities Include:

Partner & supplier monitoring and review

*Evaluate exposures to risk on new partners based on a diverse set of tools and data, including but not restricted to credit scores, key performance indicators and key financial statements.
*Present actions, recommendations and direction (not just results) to different governance forums (e.g. Partner Risk Management Forum, Risk Committee, Revenue Committee, Corporate Risk Governance). These results need to be backed by strong recommendations.
*Oversee, and develop, a team who will undertake the partner risk management review process for all existing partners to include monitoring of financial information and internal reports and KPIs. Apply information gathered to an internal client database score, ensuring accuracy of external and internal information.

Commercial underwriting and bad debt mitigation

*Manage a team to include commercial underwriting and ROP reclaim to protect the business against bad debt. The commercial underwriting function will be new to the business and require support as it is set up and grown in line with the business sales growth.
*Monitor and influence the effectiveness of the ROP reclaim function as the business grows and the insurance premium funding line is transformed over the next 12-18 months. (ROP Reclaim refers to the process by which the business ensures the insurance brokers (partners) are returning the correct amount back on cancellation of the credit agreement from the insurance policy (return of premium)).

Commercial advice

*Lead the advice and opinions on commercial risks and issues based on financial information available and development of government or regulatory legislations.
*Through building internal networks, keep abreast of commercial and operational developments in order to proactively influence and inform business decisions related to partner stability or credit risk.
*Provide Partner Risk representation on key strategic projects to ensure that risk considerations are embedded in project plans and business requirements.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

*Ability to analyse financial information
*Experience in corporate insolvency, corporate finance or transaction services
*Experience from a Financial services, or other regulated business would be desirable
*Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA would be desirable
