Seeks to recruit care staff to work principally in the Craven area.
Supports carers who may not have benefitted from Sitting Services and domiciliary care previously to access Care @ Carers Resource.
Assesses the levels of support required and manages transition.
Supports the carer in accessing other services including health, welfare benefits and other services delivered by the Carers’ Resource.
Liaises with other professionals to bring about positive change for the carer and their cared for.
Keeps up to date on current and emerging legislation and local and national policy - using the information sources available.
Manages the Support Workers including regular supervision, personal development reviews.
Ensures there are opportunities for communication and training for Support Workers at the required intervals.
Develops the quality of the service to be outstanding - through regular spot checks and reviews with Support Workers and clients.
Helps the Head of Care Provision understand the gaps in services, seeking to address new methods of filling them, and the impact this has on carers.
Supports other localities during times of sickness and holiday.
Manages the on-call phone in rotation with other managers.

Selects and manages staff according to Carers’ Resource policy and procedures.
Handles performance issues constructively, resolves conflicts, sets and maintains performance standards to reflect organisations goals.
Keeps the Head of Carer Services informed of progress against targets and any emerging issues.
Makes appropriate decisions without 'passing the buck’.
Communicates effectively to team, peers and other managers.
Appraises staff and Identifies and addresses their strengths and weaknesses, tackles performance issues in the team.
An advocate of equality and diversity in the service - doesn’t tolerate any discriminatory behaviour or language.
Able to stand in for Head of Service , chairs and participates in meetings, with team and peers
Contributes to induction programmes and supports required training of staff.
