Job Position: Fuels/Exhaust Team Leader

Job Status:

Our client is looking for a Team Leader to lead the Vehicle Fuel and Exhaust systems team. The role will be to coordinate and lead the team to successfully deliver exhaust and fuel systems content across a variety of customer projects.

The Role:

Lead the vehicle fuel and exhaust system team within the Vehicle Engineering department

Develop and deliver powertrain systems content to a variety of customer projects including technical leadership of agreed project deliverables

Ensure that agreed deliverables are completed by the team in a cost-effective and timely manner and that a task delivery approach is instilled within the team

Assist with allocating and directing staff and allocating resources needed for the project

Support cross functional working with other divisions to effectively used shared resources across the business

Development of the team including recruitment & interviewing, carrying out performance development reviews, process and capability enhancement, resource planning



Hold a degree in an Engineering or Science related discipline

Proven ability within an automotive engineering background, a number of years of experience of successfully delivering projects in an OEM or Tier 1 capacity having led teams of engineers

A high standard of automotive technical knowledge of powertrain vehicle systems including significant proven ability of one of the key areas of exhaust (hot and cold-end) or low pressure vehicle fuel systems (fuel tanks, lines, evaporative emissions control, CNG & LPG systems)

Ability to plan and lead a team to deliver projects within budget and within the scoped time

Ability to train engineers and develop a team, with good interpersonal and communication skills

Commercial awareness to support the Vehicle Product Group during preparation of responses to RFQ's

Drive and commitment to deliver technically challenging projects

Salary: Up to £60k
