Based at the Council House, Walsall

Walsall Council is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Resilience Officer to join the Resilience Unit which comprises of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity services.

Reporting to the Resilience Manager you will be committed to seeking continuous improvement through the development and validation of plans in preparation for major incidents and emergencies resulting in disruption.

You will have experience in developing and validating emergency and business continuity plans with service managers and professional partners. You will actively support the integration of civil protection arrangements in the borough which is a key aim of the Walsall Resilience Group.

The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience in emergency planning and business continuity processes, excellent organisational and communication skills, and an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work is essential.

Educated to degree level in Business Continuity, Risk Assessment or Emergency Planning you will have a high level of IT literacy and be able to communicate effectively at all levels. An important part of the role will be participation on the council’s 24hr rota of Emergency Planning Officers for which an allowance is paid. You will hold a full driving licence and have access to independent transport.
