1:1 Teaching Assistant
1:1 teaching assistant role based at a primary school in Ross on Wye, to start in September.

Hays Education is looking for SEN teaching assistants, who are passionate about giving those with autism great support and opportunities. We are looking for those that are available for both short term and long-term assignments in the Gloucestershire area. Our expert knowledge will ensure that you are supplied with work in schools that are most suitable to you.
Your new role
Working at a primary school in Ross on Wye, specifically working with an individual who has autism you will support the pupil and the teacher, in a school that caters for those who are on the autistic spectrum. The child shows mild behaviours and can get frustrated which results in needing to leave the classroom on occasion, but mainly needs help academically in the classroom.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need recent experience that is relevant to this work, any TA qualifications, for example, level 2 or level 3 could be useful. Team Teach or courses similar could also be beneficial, as well as any other qualifications relevant to SEN for example PECS, sign language or MAPA to name a few. You also need to be passionate about supporting those with special needs in a school environment.
