Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently working alongside a Market Leading Property business based in the heart of Birmingham City Centre to appoint an Assistant Property Accountant to the team.
This is a permanent opportunity paying circa £21,000 per annum.

Overall Purpose of Job

This role is within the complainant and process driven Accounting team and reports directly to the Finance Manager. The main purpose is to support the team with all day to day processes and be part of cohesive and well balanced department to ensure delivery to all stakeholders is within the agreed timescales.

Main Duties, Accountabilities & Responsibilities

This role will require an individual that possesses a varied accounts department background and will be required to perform the following duties, however this is not exhaustive:
Responsible for updating and maintaining lease details on the database which drives the finance function and reporting so accuracy and attention to detail essential
Assist Client Accountants with month and quarter end financial reporting
Being aware of the quarterly timetable for the client portfolios for all regular charges and ensuring these timescales are met
Liaising with the Accounts Payable processors to assist with resolution of supplier queries Liaise with Cashiers and Treasury Compliance on all banking related issues i.e. transfers to client, month end updates and bank reconciliations
Liaise and work with the Credit Control team to ensure prompt debt collection and management of arrears
Respond to and liaise with PMA Helpdesk to resolve general tenant queries Liaise and work with the surveyors with the day to day queries
Maintain and update property service charge data, year end and budget information on the database.
Support Corporate Accountants with the preparation of year end papers for auditors and liaise with the Companies FM staff and Surveyor responsible for these costs Adhere to the PMA quarterly timetable for key processes and operations

The selected candidate will have the following:
Experience of working to tight deadlines
Attention to detail specifically when updating database information
Strong analytical skills Ability to listen to the stakeholders request, interpret and provide a resolution
Ability to deal with high volumes of work and prioritise accordingly
Excellent communication skills High level of IT knowledge including advanced knowledge of excel Autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision
Good work ethic with an energetic approach
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute in a positive manner to the overall performance of the team.
Flexibility and commitment to completing the task in hand Enthusiasm to learn about the company, department and property regulations
