An established, specialist school based in Birmingham, that support primary (KS2) and secondary aged individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, are seeking to recruit an experienced and confident SEND Teaching Assistant, owing to day to day and short term sickness cover
Your new role
This job will see you working 1:1 and/or with small groups of pupils with ADHD, ADD and other moderate learning difficulties (MLD) challenging behaviour. The job will see you working with primary (upper KS2) and secondary aged pupils (KS3 + 4). The school require people on a day to day requirement as well as short to mid-term cover, supporting with the curriculum delivery, supporting assessments + reports and helping pupils to manage their behaviour. This job is temporary.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a special school or care setting, supporting moderate and severe autism is essential. A level 3 equivalent qualification in childcare is desirable but not a must. Candidates with Team Teach training or an alternative form of restraint training will have a significant advantage.
