Job Title: Claims Handler

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Handler to join our client's recoveries team. As a Claims Handler, you will be working for a multi-award-winning company within the Insurance sector. Working as a Claims Handler you will be responsible for handling a variety of recovery claims which have been referred to the recoveries team.

Job Description:

Claims Handler duties include:

  • To handle a variety of recovery claims which have been referred to the recoveries team
  • The Claims handler will recover from third party insurers the outlay they have made as a result of the fault of a third party
  • To manage claims proactively and within company protocols, whilst complying with all regulatory and internal control systems
  • Refer and take referrals as required by company procedures and within individual authorities
  • Release cheques and action complaints within authorities set by management
  • Keep up to date with regulatory requirements and changes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Insurance policy wording, coverage and terms and conditions
  • Working knowledge of negligence, legislation and Occupiers Liability Act
  • Understanding of the property claims management process
  • Experience of recovering money
  • Organised and committed to customer care
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English
  • CII qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
  • Adept in use of MS office particularly Excel and Word

Hours: Monday to Friday between 8.00am - 6.00pm, 40 hours per week

Salary: Up to £21,000 pa depending on experience
