Seeking a resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with moderate learning difficulties

Your new company
Hays Education are currently working with an established setting in Sandwell that supports students with moderate learning difficulties. This Sandwell based setting is well resourced and has good facilities and pupil focussed approach to learning. They provide support to pupils across KS2 -KS5, who have a variety of Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Your new role
This is a long term, distinct job opportunity and this job role is supporting the teacher in delivering the curriculum to small class groups, supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties and autism. In this role you will provide general class support, support targeted interventions, assist and escort on offsite learning sessions and support excursions. The purpose of the job is to ensure participation in learning and pupil progress. The duration of this job should be at least up until October half term but is expected to last for the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a passionate, outcomes focused person, with experience of working with children or young people or adults with Complex Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs and/ or Autism. You will be a have a minimum of 40 days experience, in the last 2 years, of working in schools and/ or care settings, SLD, ASD or PMLD settings, which can be referenced. You must have a level 2 or level 3 childcare qualification. Experience with PECS or Makaton will be advantageous.
