Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
To maintain plant and equipment in good working order and implement continuous improvements in line with all plant priorities.
Breakdowns and PPMs within the plant, ensuring that health and safety within the entire plant is a priority. Report to supervision when work requires weekend planning.
Equipment to include, but not limited to: chain and roller conveyors, motors and gearboxes, paint booths, stackers, shuttles, tipper tables, and vaccum aided lifting equipment.
Involved in continuous improvement projects.
Maintain and issue and control, plant and equipment spares and consumable stocks.
Organise the repair and overhaul of all powered hand tools.
Continually seek ways to improve all processes and procedures in practise relating to the maintenance of equipment, in line with health and safety processes.
Proactive approach to work, looking for getting things right the first time, and contribute with ideas.
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and make decisions when required.
Issue work permits and management of contractors, up to a Technician level.
Overtime flexibility highly desirable.
3 shift pattern. Although nights could be swapped by afternoons or mornings according to business needs with reasonable notice given. (Cover other people holidays, sickness or training).

Multi-Skilled (50/50 or electrically biased)
Ability to resolve problems in a calm and safe manner.
At least Level 2 or similar in an electrical discipline.
17th Edition wiring regulations. (Not essential)
City and Guilds, apprenticeship, HND, HNC or similar in an engineering-related discipline. (Not essential)
Proven experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment with practical skills in electro-mechanical repair and maintenance. Good and methodical fault finding skills
Efficient and flexible approach to work.
“First time right” mentality.
Effective ability to influence and deal with other departments.
Methodical and thorough style of working.
PLC programming Allen Bradley, desirable but not essential.
Willing to learn fabrication skills. In house training provided by CHEP.
Happy to abide by H&S rules, permit to work systems, Lock Out Tag Out, etc.
Able to communicate in English both verbal and in writing.
Interested in development and progression within 3 – 5 years to a supervisory role
