Field Service Engineer – Electro-Mechanical / Electronics

A worldwide provider of high precision equipment used for micro-machining, welding, cutting and marking applications, due to growth are now looking for an additional Field Service Engineer to join their existing service and support operation based in Warwickshire.

Reporting into the Field Service Manager, the successful individual will be involved in a variety of tasks which will include providing telephone and remote support to customers on their products; attending customer sites throughout Europe, USA and Asia when faults occur and to install, fault find and repair equipment on customer sites and within the factory when not travelling; providing commissioning support to integrators and on occasions train distributors in service and support as well as support the generation of customer facing documentation, training manuals and spare parts lists.

The successful individual must be qualified to at least HNC standard or above within Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related subject and have a proven track record of working within a field service, customer or technical support capacity fault finding, repairing and servicing of electro-mechanical / electronic systems; comfortable with electrics and handling electrical systems; have experience of fault-finding down to board level using handheld test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters and can read / interpret circuit diagrams.

Individuals who have previous experience of servicing scientific instrumentation, medical devices, semi-conductors, RF systems, telecommunications, military systems or high precision equipment or have experience of working with fibre optics and splicing would be of distinct interest to our client, though not essential.

The client is looking Individuals who are self-starters; have excellent organisational and planning skills; possess strong communication and customer facing skills along with the ability to work well under pressure.

Individuals must possess a full UK /EU driving licence and be willing to travel on business for up to 40% of the time throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA sometimes at short notice.

This position is offering a salary in the region of £28,000 - £35,000 + 25 day holiday + 8 Bank holidays, Group Personal Pension and Private Medical
