Our client, a well-known automotive organisation are looking for a Senior Quality/Warranty Engineer to join their team in Leamington Spa. This role will be continually developing and maintaining the organisation's quality management system, working across all departments to ensure quality standards are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Quality Email Address for issues
  • Liaise with Warranty/ Engineering/ Service/ Sales/ Warehousing and Packing personnel daily ref issues
  • To validate, authorise and warranty claims received and to investigate/inspect warranty return product when appropriate. Seek engineering support for validation as required.
  • Manage and report on bonded stock locations
  • Coordinate 3PL Quality Inspectors/ appropriate personnel ref Quarantining and Inspection of Quality issues
  • Ensure all appropriate parties have a Quality Alert/ 5P raised
  • Ensure inspectors provided with latest drawings/ visual standards
  • Advise issue to SQD’s and results of stock checks as available
  • Attend other facilities as required to address Quality/ Warranty issues, especially if trends/ high value claims identified or as part of proactive quality initiatives
  • Instigate and Manage PRR Process with the SQD’s, ensuring latest problem solving techniques (PST) employed where appropriate
  • Provide training in PST/ quality functions as appropriate
  • Ensure PRR/ OE requested 8D processes appropriately driven to completion in a timely fashion and supply is not compromised
  • Complete any appropriate reporting ref Corrective Action/ Warranty
  • Provide metrics regarding Product Corrective Action/ Warranty as required
  • Audit Inspectors and SQD’s as appropriate to ensure consistency of process application
  • Liaise with business support network for adjudication purposes and to ensure the warranty repair timeline is met
  • Liaise with business network to manage and adjudicate on OE customer claims
  • Manage OE warranty accounts and attend OE customer warranty review meetings as required

Essential Requirements:

  • Good command of full suite of MS Office inc. Excel and Visio
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Full driving license and flexibility to attend off-site premises within the EMEA region required
  • Manufacturing/ Engineering Degree or relevant experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use hand-held measuring equipment
  • Must be able to work autonomously, when required
  • Experience of using automotive industry recognized tool such as; APQP, PSW, Problem Solving Techniques e.g. 8D and also proactive tools such as FMEA
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Red Prairie an advantage
