This role is working for a maunfacturer of security systems and healthcare equipment. You need not be techincal for this role as its very much about selling the provision of secruity and solutions often to nurserys , schools and colleges as well as much bigger business solutions once you are up to speed. Consequently the focus is very much more on your proven sales ability and being able to demonstrate that you are consultative and can sell.
You will receive excellent training and support from the company head office in middlesex and around half of your new busines appointments are made for you. They provide a very generous commisin scheme form which the average person is earning well over 50k and the best much more in what is still and small but growing UK and Ireland field sales presence.
Role Description: Business Development Manager
Follow a structured sales process, attending qualified meetings with decision makers in order to present the companies solutions.
Generate high-quality and profitable business from a wide variety of industry sectors and sizes within your designated sales territory. As a BDM conducting most of your work outside of a business office, you will be expected to manage your time effectively, track your selling activities, manage contact information for sales prospects and your existing clients and schedule meetings with prospects within your sales territory.
You will employ a consultative sales process with the goal of securing new business contracts with SME business owners. You will need to develop knowledge of your target customers, existing competitors in the marketplace and industry trends that may impact a buying decision. Initially you will approach verticals in which the company has a proven track record.
You will spend time in the office during your training period and a minimum of one day per month at a monthly sales meeting.
You will also benefit from appointments booked by the telemarketing team.
Months 4 onwards:
Identify and target medium sized businesses in different sectors with potentially a longer sales cycle.
You will be required to maintain a schedule of shorter sales cycle appointments in addition to ensure you reach your monthly target.
You will retain your own customers and cross-sell/ upsell to them as appropriate.
? 10-12 meetings booked per week; confirmed via email and loaded to CRM
? 8-10 meetings attended per week
? Maintain and update the CRM database including customer details, interaction, scheduled call-backs, new opportunities, estimated and actual close dates.
? Submit to the Managing/ Sales Director a regular report of activity including details of canvass calls, appointments, demonstration and user calls.
? Upload to the CRM copies of all proposals generated.
? Ensure all lease and service contracts are completed accurately and are legally compliant.
? Ensure all sales order paperwork is completed accurately.
? Attend meetings, training courses/ sessions etc, as may be requested by the Company’s management.
? Take responsibility for the proper keeping of any Company property issued to you.
? Act with integrity at all times.
? Achieve sales revenue and profit targets.
? Ensure existing accounts are retained.
? Ensure your customer base and service revenues continually grow.
? Develop a thorough understanding of the sales process for the purpose of managing opportunities from open to close.
? Identify cross-selling opportunities within your customer base.
