Our client a European manufacturing organisation are actively seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician, temp initially with the view of a perm role for the right candidate, working days regular 8-4:30 with an early finish.

Key Responsibilties and Accountabilties -

Ensure the preventative planned and reactive maintenance on facilities equipment to include HVAC systems; cooling and heating systems, duct extraction processes, water services and purified water controls, throughout the site is carried out and documented.
Carry out Facilities Engineering Work Requests (FEWR) as directed by the facilities engineer. Provide electrical maintenance service along with installations works throughout the site,
Seeking to continuously improve the services and facility currently used and ensure most efficient and cost effective operation.
Work with other departments where indicated to improve performance and achieve company objectives.

Role -

  • Assist in the development, implementation and improvement of facilities maintenance SOP's.
  • Carry out electrical installations ensuring they are completed within time scales indicated and always to the 17th edition regulations.
  • PAT test new equipment on arrival.
  • Carry out the testing of emergency lighting throughout the site and document, replace and repair where required.
  • Proactively highlighting areas of concern on site that can be planned into the daily works schedule where applicable.
  • Provide upkeep of the HVAC and Air Conditioning Units regarding maintenance and repair.
  • Troubleshoots simple mechanical and electrical systems. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect malfunction and diagnoses problems or repairs machines.
  • To continually review and report on facility equipment performance and operations.
  • Provide reasonable overtime support to effectively resolve both operational and non-operational equipment issues.
  • Be a key contributor to planning and implementing out of hour maintenance and project support, as required.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Recognised electrical qualification e.g. ONC, HNC or equivalent.
  • Essential to have completed a recognised and certified time served electrical apprenticeship, preferably in within a facilities department.
  • Proven hands on facilities related experience gained ideally within a pharmaceutical environment.
  • 17th edition trained electrician is essential with 2391 inspection and test certification an advantage.
  • Previous HVAC and BEMS experience is essential with hands on for compressed air, steam boilers, direct expansion heating and cooling systems being desirable.
  • Experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Able to work under on own initiative regarding site standards to be achieved and kept.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.Willing to work as part of a multi-skilled team with good proven fault finding skills.
  • Have a disciplined and enthusiastic approach to learning.
  • Computer literacy i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong teamwork and interaction skills required
  • Possess a high work standard, always striving to do things better.
