We are looking for a Regional Transport Manager to cover the Midlands with overall responsibility to control and support an efficient transport operation covering 6 depots across the region. The operation is required to meet the needs of our customers by providing a reliable delivery service, using all available resources to minimize cost within legal and regulatory guidelines.

In this role you will effectively support all transport operations across the Midlands sites, including directly managing outsourced contracts and leading internal operating teams to ensure an efficient and cost effective transport operation. You will have a broad knowledge of the Company’s quality management system and have direct responsibility for ensuring that adequate training is provided to all employees, whilst ensuring all aspects of internal audits are compliant with internal and external procedures.

Our ideal candidate must have experience of operating within a B2B or B2C transport operation and hold a CPC qualification. You should also have previous experience of effectively managing people, operating HGV and LGV fleets and come to this role with strong leadership qualities and clear communication skills. Experience of Supply Chain is desirable as well as proven change management expertise.

A driving license is essential and you must be competent in Microsoft Office Applications with Word & Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint to an intermediate standard at a minimum. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6pm, however, a very flexible approach to working hours is essential in order to cover the needs of a 24hr operation and business. You will ideally be based in the Midlands area, central to the depots you will be managing but significant travel between these sites will be involved so alternate base at a depot closest to you is possible.
