An experienced, Urdu-speaking purchasing professional is sought by a leading Personal Protective Equipment and Workwear provider to join their Black Country-based team as an Assistant Buyer.


The Role:

As an Assistant Buyer you will work strategically within the buying team to source and negotiate existing and new products and establish long term relationships with key suppliers, with your day to day duties including:

  • Sourcing new product and existing product range accurately
  • Controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the season
  • Ensuring product meets the buying specification and delivery time
  • Quality assurance on receipt of consignments to ensure product meet required standards liaising with buyers, suppliers and distributors
  • Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data
  • Deal professionally with external suppliers and colleagues


The successful Assistant Buyer will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 1 year`s previous experience in a buying or purchasing role within the industrial sector
  • Fluent Urdu
  • Willing to travel to exhibitions, with occasional international travel and overnight stays
  • Valid passport
  • Workwear or Personal Protective Equipment experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills and can keep paperwork such as inventory planning up to date
  • Able to follow a work plan in order to meet milestones, deadlines and key performance indicators


Benefits:

  • £22,000 salary
  • 23 days holiday (rising to 25 after 2 years of service) plus bank holidays
  • Working hours 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday
