11 Autism Teaching Assistant
1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant
Your new school
A mainstream primary school in Stafford is recruiting an experienced Autism Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and general support to the Teaching and Support team from September.
Your new role
In this challenging, but extremely rewarding role, you will work alongside the Teaching and Support team at the school to build positive, meaningful relationships with the students.
The successful candidate will be working with an SEN pupil on a long term basis offering additional support in the classroom. You will be confident in planning and preparation to work alongside the classroom teacher and to use your skills and experience as an SEN teaching assistant.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you must have recent and relevant experience as an SEN teaching assistant, working with children with Autism, either in a voluntary or paid capacity. You must also have a passion for working with primary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification or alternatively extensive SEN experience supporting children in the Primary phase who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or exercise other complex and challenging behaviours.
The challenges you will face day to day mean you must be a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a key passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the desire to have a positive impact on building good relationships with staff and students. You will need to have good time keeping and preparation skills in order to be a fantastic asset to the school. Ideally, you will have undertaken Autism training and/or have a qualification to show this.
What you'll get in return
Not only will you receive all the support you need from a Department for Education accredited recruitment expert, while working for Hays you'll also enjoy a range of employee benefits including access to professional development training and holiday pay. You will also receive £250 in high street vouchers every time you recommend a friend to us*
