Part of a major international group, this organisation has a modern manufacturing facility to produce high value components for the automotive industry. As a Quality Manager your role will be to develop quality control plans and process improvements to facilitate successful product launch and quality management systems integration to meet customers expectations.

Salary: to £60000, car allowance, bonus, pension

Reporting directly to the Plant Director, you will be responsible for all plant quality activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Planning, directing and controlling quality assurance and quality control functions including production, operations, laboratory and metrology.

Key Responsibilities:
o Management and development of customer relations, ensuring regular liaison and quality/ business tools are utilised to measure and improve performance to meet customer expectations
o Implementation, control and development of quality standards to meet customer specific requirements within TS 16949 framework
o Management of day to day quality concerns at the customer, Supplier and in plant in terms of quality performance
o Support programme managers in gateway review meetings regarding NPI quality inputs
o Lead the standards and procedures for PPAP/ APQP/ PSW and conduct audits to ensure o NPI adherence is deployed using companies best practice processes
o Manages quality data for accuracy and report generation
o Provide regular updates and hold master timing plans for key quality activities / milestones for each project

Qualifications and Aptitudes:
To be successful in this role you will already have several years experience working in a Plant Quality Manager or possible Senior Quality Engineer and will see this a tremendous opportunity to establish and influence the quality direction within a modern plant.
Further more your experience will encompass some of the following key metrics;
o Senior management experience working within the automotive tier 1 or OEM industry and TS16949 QMS proficient
o Knowledge of complex high value production and assembly manufacturing processes
o Automotive quality tools including APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA and SPC techniques and the ability to implement them.
o Understanding of customer product quality expectations, dimensional and CPA
o Proven experience of project management and product launch activity
o HNC/ Degree level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering/ Quality and ideally TS16949 audit trained
