Here at Wallis Lynch we are working with a prestigious client based in Coventry to recruit them an ambitious Management Accountant to join their driven and motivated finance team. In this role you will be providing support in the production of month end analysis and ad hoc reports. You will produce and monitor against the budget and forecasted numbers and liaise with various stakeholders to gain understanding of cost implications and work with them to understand the financial implications better. You will maintain accurate and detailed records of costs, including balance sheets and reporting data. Use the systems to support the role as best as possible.
Your responsibilities will include producing a timely and accurate management accounts and analysis to support key variances, and specific tasks will include analysis of codes and spends, production of journals, accruals and pre-payments, challenging of numbers and allocations, testing of assumptions and validating the accuracy in the cost base. You will update and maintain accurate balance sheets with monthly reviews, produce and monitor an accurate and timely weekly flash report and liaise with the business to ensure accuracy and understanding of the numbers. You will use suitable KPI analysis to support the reporting, and ensure the operators are made aware of any key issues in the numbers as we become aware, supporting other members of the team and are required to perform ad hoc analysis/ tasks upon request. You will be ensuring budgets and forecasts are prepared within tight timescales and outputs are clearly understood, supported and analysed. You will also ensure all Key Performance Indicators are achieved and you will present a caring and helpful attitude at all times towards customers and team.
As the ideal candidate for this role you will be proficient in excel and have strong analytical skills and be able to spot trends and get data to “roll up” into higher level reports. You will be a quick learner in terms of new systems and outputs and have high attention to detail. You will be able to build relationships with internal and external team members and be able to liaise with senior colleagues in a non-financial manor. Ideally our client is seeking the type of character who will be knocking on the door for promotion and further responsibility within a 12-18 month timescale.
It is desirable but not crucial that you have an advanced excel understanding (VBA/ Macro), that you are studying towards CIMA/ ACCA, that you have previous experience in management accounts'
