Job Specification (I002)

Role: Senior Project Engineer – Seats/Restraints/HVAC/NVH

Basis: Permanent or contract

Start Date: ASAP

Reports to: Chief Engineer

Annual Salary: £45k to £60k

Based: Coventry (with UK and overseas travel)

The Role:

Technical responsibility for the development of Seats/Restraints/HVAC/NVH within Body Interiors into the overall vehicle architectureResponsible to deliver to the VTS (technical specification), performance, cost, weight and qualityResponsible to ensure interface and integration of vehicle systems across the vehicle architecture from concept through to series running changeOwnership of the review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, DVP and performance tests throughout the development lifecycleConcern management and problem resolution to closure of all issuesActively lead supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycleSupport and training of the Manufacturing and Service departments including development of service and vehicle repair proceduresThe Person:

Proven track record of system/component technical design and delivery within an automotive or similar engineering environmentExperience of Seats/Restraints/HVAC/NVH systems within Body InteriorsKnowledge of Plastic moulding, technologies and joining methods would be advantageousExperience of system/component delivery within an APQP or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc.)Ability to lead and support vehicle and system prototype builds An Engineering Degree (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered)Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processesFlexible to support other team members in multiple programs as requiredIntrinsically self-motivated with an ability to work to challenging time scales on multiple prioritiesClear and logical in both written and verbal communicationAll employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
