Where you’ll work

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Engineering - Energy within our Technical Direction department which is the largest and most diverse area of Veolia UK offering fantastic development opportunities and exciting challenges.

What you’ll do

Technical Direction supports growth by developing and implementing innovative solutions for our customers. We are seeking a technically minded team manager to lead the Project Development & Engineering team for Industrial Customers to deliver growth, technical excellence, project governance and to build strong internal relationships with customers and senior stakeholders.

The key responsibilities of this position are detailed below:

You will manage the Engineering resource to support new and existing business development and to deliver projects on scope, on time, on budget and with no accidents. The position will also require you to provide technical and commercial governance in line with business strategy.

We will need you to validate Capex, Constructability, Programme and Risk Management to support the Investment Committee process and provide visibility of the development pipeline progress to senior internal stakeholders.

Another important element of the role will be require you to maintain a learning environment where a performing engineering team can stretch themselves to deliver growth and innovation.

What you’ll need to know

We are seeking a technically strong individual with experience in project management and good understanding of Energy Plants (Steam, LTHW, CHP) and Utilities. You’ll also ideally have a good understanding of district heating networks. A mechanical related degree or equivalent is essential and chartership is desirable.

We require a diligent manager with exposure to managing and developing staff including succession planning and performance management. You should have experience in managing customer relationships, always prioritising service delivery in line with Veolia Values.
