A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer with automotive manufacturing experience to join an international group investing heavily in new plant and facilities.

Project Engineer (Automotive)
Salary: to £40000
Location: Telford, Shropshire

Reporting to the Programme Manager, responsible for coordinating the overall master timing plan from initial from engineering design and validation, through quality planning, manufacturing, commissioning and final buy-off phases as well as ensuring the project remains on time in order to meet their customer's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
o Coordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and final buy-off phases
o Plan project requirements and resources, including the sourcing of sub-contract elements
o Anticipate any potential project risks, identifying and establishing corrective actions
o Produce deliverables on-time to customer requirements, clarifying these requirements where necessary
o Effectively analyse customer and internal changes, including feasibility study
o Track customer changes and participate in customer meetings when required
o Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) processes
o Assist with design verification and sign off reporting
o Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems

Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role you are likely to be already working in a Project Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer or Launch Engineer capacity, leading engineering program within an automotive environment.
o Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering qualification ( HNC/ Degree preferred)
o Proven Project Engineering/Project Management experience
o Evidence of technical problem solving and route cause investigation
o Experience of APQP/ PPAP process
o Understand expectations of automotive OEM customers and Tier 1 component suppliers
o Good knowledge of some of the following manufacturing processes including CNC machining, casting, stamping, robotic applications and plant automation
