About The Role

Halfords have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Expert Customer Technician to join the Autocentres team. The role will be field and garage/shop based covering the Shirley/W Mids area.

Role Purpose

As a Mobile Expert Customer Technician, you will be responsible for delivering Halfords Mobile Expert services to a high technical standard whilst giving exceptional customer service, delivering the required work on time and safely.

What will the role involve?

You will be responsible for delivering all Halfords Mobile Expert services to the right technical standard, in a professional manner and working to the highest safety standards at all times.

You will receive bookings through a smart phone App in which you will pick stock up from your local shop or garage, drive to customers homes/places of work to carry out the jobs booked in.

You will complete the jobs, gain customer feedback and if no other jobs booked in return back to the garage/shop where you will have other standard jobs booked in for you to complete.

A good proportion of the jobs will be:

Oil & Filter changes

Replacing Batteries

Bulbs, Blades


Diagnostic checks

Window screen chips

You will receive bonus on Customer Service feedback and jobs completed.

What skills are we looking for?

You will have previous experience working face to face with customers and giving high levels of customer service. You will have excellent communication skills; skilled at identifying customer needs, a self starter, with the ability to act on own initiative and identify the best way forward.

You will a be a qualified Technician with a level 3 qualification, a full clean driving licence and understand Health & Safety regulations and practices.

Verbal and written (Text) communication with customers to be professional and courteous at all times. You will live the Halfords Hands on Values (Smile, Fun, Togetherness & Confidence) have a positive attitude with a can do attitude to correct any customer issues and protect the Halfords Mobile Expert brand.

It will be your responsibility for the safe keeping of the Halfords Mobile Expert van and all equipment and safely driving the Halfords Mobile Expert van.

You will work as part of the Halfords Autocentres/Retail team when not on a Halfords Mobile Expert job and report in to the Centre/Shop Manager when not on Halfords Mobile Expert job.

You will be proficient in the use of Office and have a good understanding of Halfords Autocentres or Halfords Retail.

Hours of work will be 4 days a week 8am-7pm with one hour for Lunch on a rota basis

A variety of days from Mon - Sat
